Elevating Student Voice
We are excited in 2019-20 to expand our partnerships with schools that are interested in engaging students in helping educators to re-imagine and improve learning. These schools, like us, believe student perspectives are critical for developing learning experiences that students and adults find truly meaningful and absorbing.
During 2018-19, Front Range BOCES met weekly with a design team of Jeffco middle school students to help them learn and practice supporting teachers in the creation of learning experiences for 7th and 8th graders. We also facilitated a partnership between the design team and school administrators to craft solutions for several student and adult “pain points” in the school environment.
During 2019-20 we will build on the design team’s success and learning gained. We will expand our efforts to schools that host our Rounds Re-imagined experiences - working with students and staff to develop ways for students to be actively involved in planning the Rounds as well as acting on feedback and solutions that students offer during the Rounds process. We will also explore new opportunities that other schools have in mind - so please approach us with your ideas!
