Navigating Conflict and Facilitating Challenging Conversations
Our 2019-20 course has begun, and registration is now closed. Check back in the spring for 2020-21 course info.
The rough waters associated with team member conflict and tension can be highly stressful and can sometimes lead to erosion of relationships and school climate. Why not take the time to reflect on these tough situations, and learn and practice skills to manage the challenges of disruptive change and complex systems?
We’re inviting you to join a small cohort to explore attributes, skills, and processes to address cognitive and affective conflict. It will use a “Community of Practitioners” approach, which taps into community members’ skills and experiences in this arena.
Together you’ll learn what works, and practice facilitating real-life situations and difficult conversations. You’ll then apply your skills in your current work context, creating a healthier team, department, school and/or district. As a result, your confidence will grow, your skills will improve, and you’ll develop relationships with new colleagues who support you in your leadership role!
Your facilitator for this course is Susan Sparks, an educational consultant and long-time facilitator of negotiations and professional learning communities. Course fee is $400.
