Suzanne Rougier

Suzanne is Director of Early Learning with Aurora Public Schools.  Suzanne’s experience includes district level work to support, strategize, develop and implement early learning programming for a diverse urban school district serving 2200 preschoolers and 2500 kindergarteners.  Suzanne has worked at the state level supporting the roll out of the Colorado School Readiness Initiative and serves as an advisor to community college boards regarding teacher preparation programs in Early Learning.  Suzanne is an innovator and visionary and former school leader who opened, developed and led the first Center for Early Education in Denver Public Schools.  Her work centers on ECE and Kindergarten programmatic implementation, Preschool to Kindergarten transition, Early Learning Systems theory, emergent and early literacy development, leadership, quality, improved access to early learning programming for families, and design – from classroom to school to community.
